Our Genesis had a beginning in April 2009.  When moved by the Holy Spirit of God, our Pastor José Chico and then our leaders Angel Luis Rosa and his wife Ramona Cruz had the zeal raise a church under the biblical model.  God began to bear witness in the hearts of some lives that, impacted by the message of the word and convinced by Holy Spirit of God, decided to be part of our organization.

In the month of July 2009, by prayer and guidance from our Lord, the Governing Board of the church was selected and had their first time.  It was in the month of August that, while praying in the early morning, God gave our Pastor the name of our organization, ‘Iglesia Israel Mahanaim’; “…Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed” Genesis 32.28, “…and the angels of God met him. When Jacob saw them, he said, “This is God’s camp.” And he called the name of that place Mahanaim” Genesis 32.2. When our Pastor shared the experience with the church, the power of the Holy Spirit of God confirmed the name of our organization.

In the month of November 27, 2010 we had our assembly of Initiation, where our Board of Directors composed of Senior Pastor/President José M. Chico, Missionary/ Secretary Ramona Cruz,Treasurer/Associate Pastor Samuel Lopez, Director/Commissioned Minister Angel L Rosa and Director/Commissioned Minister Rafael Pereira.  At that assembly we also appointed the following leaders; Missionary Elizabeth Chico, Missionary Lisa Pereira, Co-Missionary Arelis Lopez, and Exhorter Edith Fuentes, this was a very special moment.

In addition to have leaders in Pennsylvania we also have Minister Rafael Pereira along with his wife Missionary Lisa Pereira representing us in the state of New Jersey.  In the island of Puerto Rico we have Minister Ramona Cruz and Minister Angel L. Rosa as our representatives.

On June 11, 2010 our organization was incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania. On May 4, 2012 our first daughter church was incorporated in the state of New Jersey. On May 20, 2016 we incorporated in the island of Puerto Rico.

Our organization, Iglesia Israel Mahanaim, maintains its focus on the entrustment of the promulgation of the saving gospel without diminishing the importance of the biblical creeds of the holy Apostles, that is, the love of God and neighbors, the justice of the kingdom and the integrity of the sacred commandments ordered by our just and holy God.
